The City of Toronto's Neighbourhood Grants Program provides $1,000–$3,000 in funding to support resident-led groups to make changes they want to see in their communities.

Social Planning Toronto is excited to partner with the City of Toronto to support the Neighbourhood Grants Program. Our role is to distribute funds to the resident-led groups and to provide training and other supports, as needed.

Learn more about the program and our skills-building and connecting opportunities for grant recipients in the video below.

"Wherever I live, I want to be a part of it when it comes to change."
~Janel Simpson, grant recipient

In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible to hold in-person events, SPT designed and delivered a series of training workshops to help grant recipients pivot to online events instead. Learn about the impact of the training series in the video below.

"Neighbourhood Improvement Areas [are] often under-represented in these spaces. It's not because we don't care about our communities — community is everything to us. The main challenge is that we don't have the social capital to see our ideas come to fruition. So these workshops are important because it guides the leaders in our communities to do the good work that we want to do."
~Marwa Saleem, training series participant
